In short: lowrow has no accounts and collects no data about you. What you row stays on your device.

The app
What stays on your device
Your profile (weight, heart rate zones and the like), sessions, workouts and the courses you build are stored only on your device. We have no server these data go to and no access to them. Delete the app and they are gone.
What the app downloads
When you build a new course, the app downloads public data for that part of the world. Like any request on the internet, the providers see your IP address and which map area is requested. No name, account or device ID is sent.
- Map data: OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), data from OpenStreetMap
- Elevation: AWS Terrain Tiles (Amazon Web Services, s3.amazonaws.com)
- Weather at the course: Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com), only if you chose real weather
- Place search and map: Apple Maps (MapKit), under Apple's terms
Bluetooth and Apple Health
Your rower and heart rate strap connect directly to your device over Bluetooth. If you switch on Apple Health, the app writes finished sessions to Apple Health; they stay in Apple's Health app on your device, and we neither read nor share them.
Rowing together
Once multiplayer is available and you use it, the app sends your position on the course and the display name you chose to our server so others can see you. The server only passes this on and does not keep it.
This website
This site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising and loads nothing from third parties; fonts and the live world in the background come from our own server (lowrow.wipgames.dev). Our hosting provider processes technically necessary data (IP address, time, page, browser) in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are deleted after a short time.
The tester form sends nothing itself: it opens your mail app. If you send us the email, we use your details only to contact you about testing (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and delete them when the test programme ends or when you ask us to.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Write to hello@lowrow.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority (dsb.gv.at) or the authority where you live.
